consulting

I have attended the Information Session of Bain & Company last night at CMC. I am pretty interested in consulting job now. I really hope that I can have a chance to get into it. Through the presentation, I know that the job will be very intense and challenging. And an important thing for consultant is to relax, and make friends with colleagues. Because it is crucial that ppl can get together and talk about case fluently and with open mind! After the presentation, I talked to Craig, and another man whose name I forget... I made a mistake!!! I should take his business card!! Anyways, I get Craig's card, but we didn't talk that much...

After the presentation, I went back home and applied for job in B&C. And also, I applied jobs on Boston Consulting Group as well! I hope there's good news!

Day1

Last night, Jordan sent me a list of the companies that he has applied, inside there is relative information. I have to thank to him! Oh, also, he sent an electronic instroction of asset management practicum individual project to me. That helps a lot! But I don't know when I will have enough time to redo that project.

Today, I created an account on PWC. The sad thing is... I don't know how to find opening job in the website! So I did not apply. Then I applied for some jobs on GE, which is one of the companies Jordan applied. I know it is a big company, and the chance is tiny. But it never hurt to try!

At the same time, I applied for a part-time job at Locus Capital Partners. The position is day trading~ I think I will go there even it is unpaid. I just want to learn doing trading! There is another company asking for trading part-time, and it offers training online on Jan 26th. Let's see if I can learn anything there.

Oh, ps: I have created an excel file to mark information of position I applied for! I like things organized! ^ ^

Best Luck

Start on Journey

Finally, I open this blog to record my job-hunting process.

It's the third semester in U.S.A, the seventeenth month since I first stepped on this grand land. I'm glad that I could visit my parents, my relatives and my friends during the short winter vacation. My father said if I can't find job in U.S.A, feel free to go back China. I know how much he misses me. And my mother said she believed that I could find a job in U.S.A. I know how much expectation she put upon me. I have made decision. I can't go home with no work experience. That will be a big lost of my knowledge and my parents' grand spent on my tuition. I will try my best to find a decent job here, work for a few years, and then go back to my lovely homeland. But even if I, unfortunately, can't find a job here, I hope I can still learn things through the process, I can look back to my diaries here and remember every little bittersweet.
